Hello everyone, how are you today?
Today I want to share with you an exciting new chapter in my life—a fresh start on the enchanting island of Cape Breton. The decision to explore this picturesque island off the coast of Nova Scotia has filled my heart and enriched my life with unforgettable moments.
It starts with the breathtaking nature that Cape Breton has to offer. The Cabot Trail, with its breathtaking views of the Highlands and the Atlantic, has captured my heart. Hiking along the rugged coastlines and through lush forests has allowed me to develop a deeper connection with nature—a gift I gave myself.
Cape Breton's cultural diversity is equally fascinating. The rhythmic sounds of fiddles and the clatter of tap dances in the cozy pubs have brought me closer to the island's vibrant traditions. The Highland Games, which celebrate Scottish roots, are a festival you simply must experience.
But it wasn't just the landscape and culture that captivated me, but also the warm hospitality of the residents. The locals on Cape Breton are proud of their island and willingly share stories and traditions that make this corner of the world so unique. It's as if you've arrived in a large, welcoming community.
And then the culinary delights—a true feast for my palate! Fresh apples from the orchards, juicy blueberries, crispy potatoes, and aromatic herbs lend the dishes here an incomparable authenticity. The farm-to-table movement is strong, and I love enjoying local produce straight from the farmers' markets.
This new chapter of my life on Cape Breton is a gift of life for me. The joy I've found here is not only in the spectacular landscapes or cultural highlights, but also in the sense of community and the deeper connection to nature.
I invite you to experience this exciting new beginning with me. Pack your bags and let yourself be enchanted by Cape Breton – an island that is not just a destination, but a lifestyle.
See you soon from Cape Breton,
Today I'd like to share our exciting journey as a newlywed couple, which is leading us to a new chapter in our lives on our 70-acre property on the picturesque Loch Lomond. A dream we shared and are now turning into reality – our own permaculture orchard.
The landscapes around us are like something out of a fairytale. The view of Loch Lomond is simply magical, and we can't wait to transform this idyllic spot into an oasis of sustainability. The idea of planting fruit trees and practicing the principles of permaculture has captured our hearts.
We created the Cabot Trail following our own creative vision—a network of paths through our orchards and vegetable patches. Here, we dream of apples, pears, and peaches growing side by side with carrots, tomatoes, and aromatic herbs—a symphony of flavors that will delight not only our palates but also the environment.
Our connection to nature is profound. Walking along the lake, we feel the power of the water and the tranquil serenity of the forests. Our permaculture is not just a way of farming, but an expression of our love for the earth and the desire to live in harmony with it.
Our journey is also shaped by the warm community around us. Local farmers and neighbors have welcomed us with open arms, shared their experiences, and supported us in implementing our plans. It's more than just a neighborhood—it's a family working together for a sustainable future.
In these first weeks of our marriage, we feel the excitement and challenges that come with realizing a dream. But the love that binds us gives us the strength to overcome every hurdle. We look forward to the coming years of growth, learning, and sharing—as a couple, as a community, and as stewards of this unique corner of Loch Lomond.
With love and anticipation,
